I'm a front-end web designer. My specialties are CSS and Usability, and I'm not good with Flash, scripting or databases.
I'll happily work on a Wordpress, Joomla or Drupal site, as long as it's been set up properly by a backend developer who's available to me for support. When I need a simple CMS, I use Blogger.
I know how to use FTP and basic website configuration functions, domain name registration and migration, modify .htaccess scripts and other oldschool HTML stuff.
Most of my work has been helping designers create layouts that work well on the web, and then turning them into websites using HTML and CSS.
I'm looking for projects that build on my strong CSS experience, while offering me an opportunity to expand on my interest in usability and information architecture.
I've developed a lot of miscellaneous skills, most of which have to do with preparing media for the web. So I can edit video. I can design graphics and layouts. I'm a great font picker and have a good sense of typography. I'm a bad photographer but I can take a touch-up photos. So I'm a good general multimedia person as well as a web designer and a lover of documents.
I know my way around both Macs and PCs, and even Linux. I'm a veteran user of Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver. I'm an intermediate user of Illustrator, InDesign, Coda, and the MS Office suite. I'm a novice with Flash, AfterEffects and Final Cut Pro. I'm a total beginner with Omnigraffe and Visio.
